Artist statement
In paintings, I depict everyday objects and everyday scenes, landscapes, houses, boats and simple objects. I see these objects from different points of view and in a new angle. By doing this, I hope to show the magic of simplicity around us. Subject matter by itself does not matter, it does not mean anything. This is a simple representation of color and play of light on simple forms. Fixing the moment of eternity. The magic of the four-hour sun on the wall, flickering landscape at six o'clock in the morning, the reflected blue water on the body of the boat. All extraneous disappears, and remain simple lines and shimmering colors.
My landscapes mostly painted from life. I believe that experiencing and feeling the condition and the general atmosphere of the colorful richness of nature, all the color changes in natural conditions, with the active role of light and air can get as close to nature. Thus, to maintain maximum freshness and juiciness of colorful sounds, great immediacy and sharpness of expression. Usually its 3 to 5 hours. Condition of weather changing so fast it become a competition with the nature. I can describe my paintings as compressed time, it is the countless moments experienced and materialized by means of painting, and more - this is the result of tireless and beloved work.
I am not looking for pristine or idealized nature. I am trying to bring to my paintings an understanding that the landscape is not just a framed view, but something alive and evolving.
